OAS worried over deep political divisions in Venezuela
-Contributed by Erwin Cifuentes. In the aftermath of this weekend’s Venezuelan congressional elections, the Organization of American States expressed worry over the split between pro- and anti-Chavez factions. "Democratic political co-existence in Venezuela can only be achieved through the regaining of trust," mentioned a statement by the OAS. Meanwhile, observers from the EU declared the elections as clean and transparent. (CNN)

This is bullshit. Sure, there are deep political divisions in Venezuela, I mean they did try to oust Chavez through a coup. The people didn't vote because there was no reason to-- the opposition voluntarily accepted defeat. This is the oldest trick in the book: remove yourself when facing certain defeat and take the moral high ground. Lame. The opposition needs to get off their highhorse and reevaluate their position if they want to gain support and power. Nobody likes a sore loser, it's not very attractive. If these people really support democracy they should participate, otherwise they can go into self-imposed exile like the rest of the 'bolsersos volantes,' bitches.
