Venezuela to Help Bronx Residents With Heating Oil Bills

With the recent oil deals offering low income Americans with cheap fuel for the winter Chávez is displaying a few of his myriad goals. He achieves a hearty 'fuck you' to the American right that resonantes with many in this world, building his already large base of popular support internationally. But more importantly, he demonstrates his solidarity rhetoric-- a trick he learned from Castro (though Fidel never had much to offer the American people). Maybe he will manage to provoke a charity duel with the US government, one uping each other to gain support and helping the poor all over the western hemisphere.
