Puerto Rican demonstrators protest FBI

Over 1000 people marched in San Juan on Sunday against FBI activities in Puerto Rico, including U.S. accusations of terrorism by Los Macheteros and the 2005 killing of a nationalist leader.

You should mention, for the sake of full disclosure that the fugitive "nationalist" leader of a pro-independence militant group, was wanted for the 1983 robbery of a Wells Fargo armored truck depot. This per the CNN article you linked to.

Your post asserts that these protesters were protesting against US accusations that they were terrorists. I don't see how that vindicates them, it is no different than Hamas, or Islamic Jihad claiming that they are not terrorists (despite the suicide bombings) but rather freedom fighters. Whether or not their cause is a worthy one, terrorism, or actions that include burglary or armed robbery cannot be justified and only undermine the original cause.

Also, the article you cite about Congressmen demanding an investigation into FBI actions in the Island does nothing more than reinforce the fact that NY has a large Puerto Rican community to which these congressmen have to pander to, in order to remain in office.

Additionally, this group, the Macheteros is the same group that asserted responsibility for for a 1979 attack in which gunmen opened fire on a U.S. Navy bus, killing two U.S. sailors.
