* U.S.: According to a new study about forty million people in the U.S. speaks the blend of English and Spanish known as “Spanglish.”

* Uruguay: Uruguay will reportedly not take in more former Guantanamo detainees as President Tabaré Vasquez seems to distance himself from the policies of his predecessor, José Mujica.

* Argentina: The recent archeological find of an allegedly secret Nazi hideout in northern Argentina appears to be more a case of fiction rather than fact.

* Mexico: Family members of some of the missing and possibly massacred forty-three Ayotzinapa students continued their U.S. tour by protesting over the past few days in New York, Los Angeles and other cities.

World Watch: The Perils of Greed

* Bangladesh: The death toll from the collapse of a garment factory last month surpassed 650 as authorities will likely bring up murder charges against the owner of the facility.

* Syria: U.N. investigators concluded that neither the Syrian government or rebel factions have used chemical weapons though U.S. officials partially disagree with such an assertion.

* Germany: Authorities in Germany arrested 93-year-old Hans Lipschis and accrued him of serving as an Auschwitz death camp guard during World War II.

* U.S.: A new study concluded that nearly one in five youth are at risk for suicide if there’s a gun at their homes.

World Watch: Change of heart?

* Vatican: Vatican authorities said that condom use may be acceptable to avoid the spread of AIDS and other diseases yet they are still “immoral” as a birth control device.

* Asia: Tensions increased between the two Koreas after one of the most serious military clashes since the end of the Korean War in 1953.

* Germany: Samuel Kunz, the "world's third most wanted" suspected Nazi, died last week near his hometown near Bonn, Germany.

* Ireland: The Irish government has come under fire over approving an $11 billion bailout from the E.U. and I.M.F.

World Watch: What’s next?

* Myanmar: Dissident leader Aung San Suu Kyi was freed on Saturday though it remains to be seen how this will affect Myanmar’s anti-junta activists.

* Israel: The Israeli government could freeze new housing settlements in exchange for “military hardware” and other “incentives” from the U.S.

* U.S.: According to a Justice Department report uncovered by the New York Times, U.S. intelligence officials created a “safe haven” for wanted Nazis after World War II.

* Germany: Sebastian Vettel became the youngest driver to win the Formula 1 driver’s title after wining the final rest of the season.

* Latin America: A historic colonial Cuban town and a Mexican butterfly reserve were two of the 27 sites added to the list of World Heritage Sites by the U.N.

* Brazil: The G-5 group of developing countries- which includes Brazil and Mexico- did not see eye-to-eye with their wealthier counterparts during this week’s Group of Eight (G8) summit.

* Chile: Authorities continue to seek the world’s most wanted Nazi fugitive – Aribert “Dr. Death” Heim- who may be hiding in Chile or Argentina.
