* Colombia: The Colombian government and FARC guerillas agreed to create a truth commission that will aim to clarify “the truth in all events” of the decades-long armed conflict.

* Cuba: The push to improve U.S.-Cuba relations hit a bump after the House of Representatives voted to keep travel restrictions against visiting the Caribbean island.

* Puerto Rico: A deal could be reached that might prevent creditors from suing the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, which is saddled with over $9 billion in debt.

* Peru: An environmental advocacy group denounced alleged that a trade pact between the U.S. and Peru has failed to prevent illegal logging in the South American country.
