Sean Penn on Chavez Critics

Gotta give it up to Breitbart for writing a snappy headline.

ACTOR SEAN PENN WANTS REPORTERS JAILED FOR CALLING CHAVEZ ‘DICTATOR’ just screams click me.

Also of note, Bill Maher's pronunciation of Chavez is atrocious. Video below:

The full quote that led to the headline:

"Every day, this elected leader is called a dictator here, and we just accept it, and accept it. And this is mainstream media, who should -- truly, there should be a bar by which one goes to prison for these kinds of lies."

de Clermont - I did not see the videoclip - I do not wish to be nauseous. Here is a perfect example of someone who follows blindly his emotions. He is a hypocrite. He earns millions of dollars annually, lives in mansions, etc. and supports leftist ideologues. He has not had to work a day in his life - he spends his life play acting. A fun way to earn money, and lots of it, but it does not help learn about reality.

I will not comment on Hugo Chavez's being a dictator or not being one. What I will say is that the US Gov't has control of the media and if they want to portray someone as a dictator they can and will get it done through the media. Free independent press does not exist - at least not the major outlets. They are run by the gov't, large pharma companies and other conglomerates.

F_ck you Penn, why dont you tell Bill Maher that as a result of the great government of Chavez, 11 years now, there is a chaotic drinking water and electric power service in the country as we speak, tell Maher about 150000 violent crimes in the last 11 years, tell him about the 50000 small businesses that had closed doors, maybe Maher should that the 80% you refer to is under the government payroll, that 80% instead of working they just get a few dollars periodic to be happy with the dictator..

No, no Dictator in Venezuela. If there was then crime - white collar, blue or whatever kind you want to call it - just wouldn't exist simply put!. Elected - and re-elected according to a constitution, President Chavez Administration is mainly dealing with a 500 year of culture including inefficiency, corruption, burocracy, etc. Changing that old 500 years path is not easy! sometimes
