The Indio International Hispanic Film Festival begins today in Indio, Mexico.
The eighth annual event features films in Spanish with English subtitles from Peru, Mexico and Colombia.
Featured films are "Erendira Ikikunari," based on a Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel; "El Violin," about a musician doubling as a guerrilla; and "Madeinusa," the story of a 14-year-old encountering a geologist.
