Video of the Day: Soccer riot in Argentina
It’s never pleasant when ugly incidents occur during the “beautiful game.” In this case, here’s a brief Portuguese news report from of a riot that occurred after the second leg of an Argentine promotion/relegation playoff between Tigre and Nueva Chicago. One person was killed due to the disturbances in Buenos Aires on Monday.
Ugly as it may have been, it was still something to highlight given the tensions involved (it was a deciding promotion/relegation match) and the fact that a fan was killed due to the incidents.
As a soccer fan I was hurt to see this on just about every news program, but events like the riot cast a light on broader themes involved that need to be examined (e.g. law enforcement, sports, machismo perhaps).

call it anything but the "video of the day," Erwin. Footage of Paris Hilton getting out of jail, yes. this ugliness, no.
