* Cuban businesses are expected to rake in as much as $150 million from U.S. firms at an agribusiness fair next week.

* A new agriculture minister for Peru was named on Tuesday after his predecessor quit over a dispute regarding coca leaf production.

Can someone explain this to me? This poll by the same organization taken 5 days before has the rating up at 59%

Great observation, tfunk.

The main difference is that the poll we mentioned in the one you cited where conducted by different firms. Also, the poll you linked to interview 900 Urugayans, whereas the one we linked to only interviewed appoximately 700.

I meant that the polls were conducted by different firms albeit under nearly identical conditions (except for sample size).

I guess I just don't understand the high variation between the CIFRA and Mori polls, even after factoring in the extremes of margin of error. From 59% to 44% approval ratings in one week seems pretty drastic. Though they did just have a tragic flood, I don't think even the bush approval ratings dropped more then 3 percent post-Katrina.

At any rate, it just looked odd.
