I had the opportunity to live in Toronto for almost two years and what I can say is that I did see exactly what this article talks about.
It is also odd because other Canadian statistics point to the fact that the large mayority of Spanish speakers in Canada are Colombian.
So it is odd to think that not even Colombians like to "hang out" together.
On the other hand, I do enjoy the fact that "Latinos" are not restricting themselves to "Little Latin America". In Toronto, "Little India" or "Chinatown" are, yes, pictoresque, but they still smell of a society that refuses to blend in with Canada as a whole.
We may grow and grow... but this country is closer to speak chinese than spanish!
The influence of Spanish culture (from many different countries) has lead me to take time away from work in Toronto and live in South America. The vibrant and passionate people have regenerated my love of life!
