Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (image) easily won the runoff presidential election on Sunday with approximately 3 out of every 5 voters selecting Lula over challenger Geraldo Alckmin. Lula emerged as the winner in spite of a corruption scandals surrounding the ruling Worker’s Party and negative campaigning by both candidates.
