Russia sends ships to Havana

Russia's interest in Latin America does not seem to be ceasing.

The country's military previously entertained the idea of practicing near Venezuela. Now, Russian warships plan to travel to a Havana port Friday in a show of strength closer to U.S. borders.

The ships' five-day stay will also highlight a Latin American tour by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

  1. Three Russian ships..? Woa...that oughta scare the Americans...
    I was reading an article about this subject over at National Review, in which a group of Russian experts were asked their opinions about Moscow latest move in Latin American.
    Tom Nichols hit the nail in the head, talking about Russias moves as "juvenile, attention-seeking behavior". I happen to agree...

    I find it amusing. This is arguably more interest than what Russia showed in the region during the Cold War. NOW the Reds are coming!
