The report singled out a number of leaders, governments and state-sponsored institutions for fanning the flames of anti-Semitism, with Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the top of the list.
It also took to task the Syrian government, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, as well as the government-backed Venezuelan, Saudi Arabian and Egyptian media.
"Chavez has publicly demonized Israel and utilized stereotypes about Jewish financial influence and control," it said.
The Chavez regime and the Iranian government have strengthened political and economic ties in recent years; earlier this month, Ahmadinejad said that both countries will “remain partners in different fields.”

Hating anyone for their race, color, or religion is just plain wrong. Anti-semitism is wrong. But criticism can be justified. Israel and the lobby pulled the puppet strings for Iraq - consider how many Jewish-American troops died in Iraq, about nine I believe, vs. how many like Wolfowitz, Adelman, Perle, and Feith stayed behind the scenes and sent our boys out there to die? Israel and The Lobby have the US isolated in the world, meanwhile they sell advanced weapons technology like the F-10 fighter jet prototype to our future rival China, and kill Palestinian kids with our tax dollars. Here in the US, they dominate the production of violent and pornographic music and movies, as well as the abortion industry, yet somehow manage a lunatic tie up with the Christian Right to try to bomb Iran and bring about Armageddon. From debasing our country post-Iraq - torture is now a debate, instead of a crime - to potentially destroying the world... wake up America!
ReplyDeletewow, you guys will do anything, any kind of conspiracy theory you can muster to discredit Chavez...it really is a joke that CNN can call itself a news service or claim that you do journalism...sad, sad, sad world you insist on creating.
ReplyDeleteHolding Israel accoutnable for its ethnic cleansing is not anti-semitism, it is realism! It is, on the contrary, more to do with honoring the millions of people who were killed in the Nazi holocaust ( and not just the Jewish victims, but the gypsys and catholics, and disabled etc.!) to demand Israel complies with the international laws mandated to it, the UN resolutions that condemn its violence, every single human rights organization in the world who expose their actions and their intentions! You are demeaning the memory of the holocaust victims, you are demeaning honesty, truth, humanity and the serious problem of anti-semitism by trying to tie the condemnation of Israel to anti-semitism! Wake up !
CNN , what a joke...why not call itself the Telaviv network
