Life sentence for “dirty war” defendant

A former Argentine police commissioner was sentenced to life imprisonment for murders, kidnappings, and torture during the “dirty war” period. Human rights activists and victims’’ families applauded the sentencing of Miguel Etchecolatz who helped run secret detention centers during the military dictatorship between 1976 and 1983.
