Brazilian government reversed position on India’s nuclear plans

Brazil and South Africa backed India’s push towards expanding its civilian nuclear technology during a meeting of the heads of state from those countries. President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva hosted the summit last week in Brasilia where issues relating to international trade were also discussed.

Several months ago, Brazil quietly expanded its nuclear technology program while the rest of the world was preoccupied with Iran's nuclear plans.
