Anthony Bourdain’s take on Mexico and immigration

Chef and best-selling author Anthony Bourdain (image) traveled to the area around the U.S.-Mexico border during the latest installment of “No Reservations” last Monday night. Aside from enjoying drinks in a bar in Nuevo Laredo and savoring street food near Tijuana, Bourdain also talked with a Texan rancher opposed to building a wall along the border and dined with the family of a cook working illegally in the U.S. Bourdain discussed his views on immigration in one of his books, The Nasty Bits.

  2. Excellent show on the Mexican border. As a kid I fished the Rio Grande with my Dad. I disagree about the fence. There's a real nice bar and restaurant named Pepes By The River in Mission. I cannot imagine a Pepes By The Fence. Thanks Anthony for a wonderful program.If you don't cry a little bueyes, you are not American Mexican. Roberto Zuniga, Mcallen, Tx.

    I love it when someone who has no threat of losing his job or wages to the threat of unchecked immigration lectures the rest of us.

    Let's have 20,000 travel writers and food critics flood in illegally from Mexico, willing to do a Fine Living show for half of what Mr. Bourdains makes and see if he doesn't scream blue murder then.
